I REVIEWED THE 1ST GAME AND LOVED IT.THIS GAME HAS THE 1ST GAME BEAT AND THATS SAYING ALOT.IT DOESNT ONLY HAVE IT BEAT IT IMPROVES ON THE 1ST SUIK SO MUCH THAT YOULL FIND YOURSELF PLAYING THIS ONE MORE THEN THE 1ST.I LOVE RPG GAMES AND WAR GAMES AND THIS HAS IT ALL.OK IF YOUR STUK ON FF7 THEN DONT BOTHER TO READ THIS.OR IF YOUR 12 YRS OLD AND GOT YOUR PS3 4 CHRISTMAS OR JUST LOVVEEEEEE GREAT GRAPHICS AND HALO.DONT READ IT.BUT IF YOU LOVE A GAME THATS NOT ONLY A RPG AND FIGHTING WARS COLLECTING AND RECRUTING 108 CHARACTERS AND YOU DONT MIND DATED GTAPHICS.THEN YOU HAVE 2 BUY THIS GAME.IM NOT SAYING FF7 SUCKRD.IT WAS GREAT BUT THIS GAME HAS IT BEAT.IF YOUR A TRUE GAMER AND LOVE A GREAT GAME THEN YOU ALL READY KNOW THIS GAME IS RITE UP THERE WITH THE BEST.OK THE 1ST WAS KINDA SHORT IN GAME PLAY.BUT SUIK 2 MAKES UP 4 THAT.I LOOKED EVERYWERE 4 THIS GAME AND IT WAS LIKE NOPE WE DONT HAVE IT.I FINALY SAW IT ON A SHELF IN EB GAME STORE AND WAS LIKE WOW IT WAS PURE LUCK AND GRAT TIMING.OH MY OTHER 1 BROKE.I WONT SAY EVERYTHING ABOUT SUIK 2 CUASE EVERY1 ELSE ALREADY DID.BUT NO SAVING A PRINCESS BEFOR SHE DIES OR THE SKY S FALLING HELP SAVE THE WORLD.THIS GAME IS LIKE I SAID 1 OF A KIND.I LIKE THE CASTLE BUILDING WERE YOU JUST DONT BUILD A CASTLE BUT A WHOLE TOWN AND BIG LOL THE CASTLE IS SO BIG YOU MIGHT GET LOST IN IT.ITS SO MUCH MORE IMPROVED OVER SUIK 1 ITS AMAZING.THE HERO (WHO YOU NAME)IS A MAN OF A FEW WORDS BUT STILL KIKS AZZ.I LIKE THE 1ST HERO BETTER.I JUST THOUGHT HE DID MORE AND HE WAS THE ORIGINAL SUIK 1 HERO SO THAT HAS ALOT 2 DO WITH IT.NOT THAT THIS GUY AINT A COOL CAT THAT KIKS BUT THE 1ST SUIK WELL I LIKE THE WAY HE SPLIT AFTER THE WAR AND LET SOMEONE ELSE TAKE OVER AFTER THE WAR.I KNOW THE PRICE IS WAY UP THERE BUT THATS NOT KONAMI S FAULT OR THE GAMES.AND I KNOW SOME POEPLE WOULDNT BUY THE GAME ON PRINCIPAL ALONE 4 THE CRAZY PRICE.BUT THIS GAME BELONGS IN ANY GAMERS COLLECTION.YOU LOVED SUIK 1 THEN YOULL GO CRAZY OVER SUIK 2 TRUST ME.THIS GAME ROCKS

suikoden II is one of the best RPG games ever played, again with endless hours of game play , this game keeps you interested in each story plot......

The Best!!
This game is like no others!! Both the characters and storyline are amazing! The ending is moving! The best game i love so far is this one and final fantasy 9...A must have rpg game!!

Fan for life
It's been so long since I purchased this game, but despite how old it is, the fun factor of this game is just unbelievable. The plot is by no means dry. Music is appropriate during cut scenes. The anime portraits are beautifully drawn. Should you allow yourself, this game can definitely move you to tears, laughter, and, of course, anger. You'll find yourself attached to certain characters within the 108 stars of destiny because they all have unique personalities. And yes, there are minigames, as well as plenty of "hidden" characters/items.

Those of you who have been exposed to the current generation graphics might have to readjust slightly-keep in mind this game is great by playstation 1 standards. However, if you refuse to play this game because of it's old school graphics, then you are just missing out. And as the other reviewers have already stated, this game's a keeper.

An absolute classic
Easily the best RPG I have ever played. Graphics are not the best, but the battle system, immersive storyline, great music, detailed cities, and unique characterizations are phenomenal. Unlike many future RPG's, the load times for Suikoden 2 are very short, most likely due to the substandard graphics. If you can get over the graphics, the rest of the gameplay is incredible. The plot is unforgettable, and collecting the 108 stars of destiny is challenging and fun. Many side-quests, secrets, and player choices make this RPG one of my favorites to this day. Suikoden 2 is a classic.
