Additional cars

To unlock six hidden vehicles, hold the d-pad diagonal (Down-Right) and press L + R + C + Y at the title screen. Then press Start.

Different Views in Replay

Enter the Time Attack code. When you finish a race and replay it, press L or R to change views.

Driving tip

The green car, pink car and horses are equally adept on grass and roads.

Hidden Message

To see the Hidden message in the grass go to the Advanced track in Saturn or Arcade mode. After the checkpoint right after the tunnel there is a right turn,followed by the road going downhill. Right at the top of that hill,stop.Then if you start down slowly words will come into focus in the grass! Saying:SegaAm2SegaAm2!

Hidden Sign

On the "Advanced" track, from the starting line, turn your car around and drive up the ramp you will see on your right. At the top of the ramp in the back of the tunnel you will find a sign that reads: "CONGRATULATIONS. You Just Lost. Your Sponsors!"

Karaoke Mode

To view music lyrics, select ARCADE MODE, then set laps to "Normal" and hold Up while selecting a track with button C.

MPH to KPH

At the title screen, hold X + Y + Z on Controller Two, then press Start on the Controller One. On US versions the speedometer will change to kilometers per hour, while on Japanese versions of the game, the speedometer will change to miles per hour.

Make Jeffrey Pose

On the Expert course, drive up to the statue of Jeffrey, and stop in front of him. Press X rapidly so he turns, and stands on his head.

Maniac Mode

Looking for a challenge? If so, then wait for the SEGA logo to appear and then press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, B, C. If done correctly, you should hear a chime and the letter 'M' will appear at the top left of the screen while playing.

Mirror Mode

To race the tracks in reverse, choose Saturn Mode, then go to the "Select Your Track" screen and hold Start on the track of your choice.

Music Selection

In the Options screen, set the controller type to "B". While selecting any track and car, press and hold A, X, Y or Z until you hear the music start.

No Tires in Demo

Begin a game and enter the pit. Before the new tires are on and while the old tires are off press A + B + C + Start to reset the game. Now let the demo run for an unusual sight.

Race as a Horse

To race as a horse, hold the d-pad diagonal (Up-Left) and press A + B + X + Z on the title screen. Alternately, choose "Saturn Mode" and win every race at Normal difficulty. (Note: This code also unlocks all 10 hidden vehicles.)

Sega Soundtracks

To hear a familiar Sega melody, enter one of the codes below as initials for a record time. The tunes are from Sega classics such as After Burner (A.B), Out Run (O.R) and Virtua Racing (V.R).

Shortcut in Beginner Track

When driving on the seventh track use the pit road to overtake the other car faster than using the normal track.

Shortcut on Expert Track

Looking for a short cut on the expert track? Choose Saturn mode and choose the green car, pink car, or horse. While racing, look for a large hill beside a mountain (a little bit after the area the horses are running.) Gain as much speed as possible, then race up the hill. Be sure to slow down again to take that sharp turn.

Silent Engine

To make your engine quiet in Beginner Course, after the man is finished saying "start your engines", hold C until about 2 seconds after you see your car, then you'll have a quiet engine. To get it back, press pause then unpause, and your engine will make noise again.

Slow Competitors

To slowdown your competitors, hold Z during the race.

Time Attack

Choose Saturn Mode, then go to the Select Your Track screen and hold Start on the car of your choice. You will now be able to race in a special mode with no opponents. Try to get the best time.

Time Extension

While nearing the slot machine on the beginner track, Daytona Oval Circuit, press X to stop a reel. Jackpots add seconds to the overall time.

Turbo Start

For a quick start from the grid, hold B and C prior to the race, being careful to keep the RPMs between 6500 and 7000. At the green flag release B.
