Hard to Find Keys
Gold Key -- Go to Zalan Port; this town has no one but a dog in it. Talk to the dog in the north east corner of the town and it will go and sit on the key's location. Remember that spot and exit the town. Go back in to reset the dog's position and search the spot where the dog headed to after you talked to it.Dam (Watergate) Key -- You need the Gold Key first. Go to the underground town (Wellgarth on the NES). Go to the jail and unlock the right jail cell. Go to the wall where there is a hole and walk through the wall. Speak to the inmate to get the Dam Key.
Jail Key -- You need the Gold Key first. Go to the underground town. Go to the item shop on the west side of town and talk to the shopkeeper. He will only sell two visible items. Instead, scroll to the blank spot on the item list and buy the Jail Key for 2000 gold.
Renaming Royalty
To rename the Prince of Cannock or the Princess of Moonbrooke, save and quit the game. When you load the title screen again, go to the Continue, New Game, Option menu. Now choose Continue to show your save files. Move the cursor to the save file where you want to change the names, and hold LEFT, SELECT, START to change the Prince's name, or hold RIGHT, SELECT, START for the Princess' name. Press A to make the name menu pop-up once you decide who to rename.Traitors Rule
This only applies to Dragon Warrior 1 on the Game Boy Color. To do this, you need to rescue the princess just before you attempt to fight the last boss. Carry her along to the final castle and the last boss will ask a question. You can have different endings depending on how you answer.
